The Mid-Ohio Valley is an ideal place to live, work, raise a family, or retire. Industry thrives on both sides of the Ohio River. DuPont, Shell Chemical, Amoco, American Electric Power, Kardex, Coldwater Creek, Ames, Walker, and many other companies have major facilities in the area. The United States Bureau of the Public Debt is headquartered and has several facilities here. The Mid-Ohio Valley is also the home of local businesses with world-wide reputations, such as Fenton Art Glass, Middleton Dolls, and Kreinik Manufacturing.

Camden-Clark Memorial, St. Joseph's, Marietta Memorial, and Selby General Hospitals work with area doctors and the community to not only provide treatment during illnesses, but to raise community awareness and provide education to prevent illness and promote healthy living.

From excellent daycare facilities to the public and private high schools, education and childcare are a priority. There are many colleges in the area including West Virginia University at Parkersburg, Ohio Valley College, Marietta College, Washington State Community College, and Mountain State Business College.

Our area is rich in history and a popular spot with tourists. A visit to the Wood County Convention and Tourism Bureau and Marietta/Washington County Convention and Tourism sites will provide you with more information.

When you really want to appreciate our peaceful lifestyle, you're only two to three and one-half hours driving time away from Columbus, Pittsburgh, or Cincinnati.
